Introducing the FirstHealth Program
The FirstHealth Program is a new experience in healthcare for first responders and the first program of its kind in Collier County. It combines an occupation-specific program of required annual physical exams, lab tests, and personal wellness monitoring with strong working relationships between the patient, the doctors, and the entire healthcare organization.
Founded by a former firefighter and EMT, the FirstHealth Program was designed by a physician and is tailored to streamline and upgrade the medical process for firefighters, EMTs, law enforcement, and other first responders. The FirstHealth Program manages the day-to-day healthcare needs of these busy professionals - eliminating the hassles and ensuring the highest level of service, convenience, and care throughout the year.
How does the FirstHealth Program work?
Whether it's your annual department required physical exam or any other medical need you come to us for, each new patient has access and can be enrolled as a member of this exclusive medical service. Members will be scheduled for a personal interview and complete physical exam. Then each will be matched with a personal physician, whose job it will be to become as knowledgeable as possible about your medical history and ongoing care. The concept behind the FirstHealth Program is to improve medical care by building close doctor-patient relationships.
At the first meeting, your doctor will review your medical history and discuss overall medical condition. The exam will be set up at a time that works well with your schedule, and you will get preferred access to the medical team, with no lost time in the waiting room.
What services are included?
The highest level of personal service doesn't have to be a thing of the past. Patients receive the following:
- Annual fire department and EMS physicals designed for first responders and customized for the specific needs of each fire district and EMS.
- All fire department required screenings including stress tests, audiograms, CT scans, ultrasound, and other lab tests performed on site.
- Convenient one-stop appointments at Physicians Regional-Pine Ridge, Naples.
- A designated personal physician and medical team available to answer any questions, anytime.
- Personal ID cards to identify FirstHealth Program members.
- Thorough, unhurried visits with your doctor.
- Analysis and monitoring of yoru medical history.
- Fast access to your medical team by phone, in person, even by email.
- Fast access to the entire Physicians Regional Healthcare System with more than 300 on staff physicians at both the Pine Ridge and Collier Boulevard campuses including after-hours emergency care.
- Personal prescription management.
What about special services?
In the event of an illness that requires specialized care or surgery, your doctor will not merely provide you with the names of a few specialists. Your physician will be there as your advocate to walk you through the medical talk and help you understand every situation and every decision. He will serve as your advocate, coordinating all medical issues with a specialist, working out hospital arrangments, taking care of issues of insurance coverage, and resolving any conflicts that may arise.
Can my family benefit from the FirstHealth Program?
Yes. Absolutely. You and your family can be enrolled to receive all the FirstHealth Program patient services listed. Simply tell Dr. Hobaica or one of the team members that you want to become a FirstHealth Program member and we will take care of all the rest - obtaining your medical records and setting up a medical history interview.
